Hostaway supports Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) through Stripe Connect, allowing you to enable them for your connected Stripe accounts as you see fit.

Default Payment Methods: Booking Engine, Guest Portal, Payment links
The following methods are enabled by default on your Stripe account and are recommended to always use.
- Cards - All types of cards coming from the OTA or Booking Engine, Guest portal, and Payment Link use
- Apple Pay - Wallet connected for devices like iPhone, MacBook, and Safari Browser
- Google Pay - Wallet connected for devices like Android phones, Chrome Browser
- Link.com - Wallet by Stripe that works across all devices and websites supporting Link.com
Optional Payment Methods: Booking Engine, Guest Portal, Payment links
- Amazon Pay - Wallet connected to an Amazon account by a guest using the account on Amazon and other websites
- Revolut Pay - Wallet connected to EU/UK using guest accounts, for other regions, Card or Link.com can be used by the Guest for Revolut cards
- Klarna - Buy now, pay later - popular in the EU and the USA
The above payment methods support all current payment flows for charges and pre-auth's by their nature and current by methods set restrictions for usage and therefore can be used on Booking Engine, Guest Portal, and Payment Link share URLs.
Optional Methods for Payment Links: no save for future use requested:
The following list of payment methods can at this time be used with the "no save future use request" for payment links only. At Hostaway, we work on additional flows compared to automated payment templates to offer more or most of them also on check-out on Booking Engine and Guest Portal, and so are subject to changes.

The above payment methods are considered instant payment success confirming methods. This means that when the guest makes a payment, the guest or you will know within seconds that this payment was successfully made or failed and needs a retry from the guest side.
Delay confirming, supported by payment link, restricted on request access, optional:
Delayed payment methods are those that can or will take days or weeks to confirm to you if the payment request was successfully paid or failed in the end. While Hostaway supports these methods, the initiated payment will remain in a status Awaiting Confirmation until the guest's bank side confirms his success or failure to you and the guest on the payment page. This causes the risk that you, as a property manager, might find out days after a guest left that the initial payment waiting to be confirmed by the guest's bank failed, and so became unpaid.
Only activate these methods when you understand the risks involved in offering them to your guests.

- NZ bank account - Confirming - 2 business days

- Oxxo - Confirming - unknown business day
- Multibanco Confirming - several business days
- Pay by bank - Confirming up to 75 business days
- UPI - Confirming first charge instantly, recurring automated charges confirm in 1 business day
Until further notice, non-supported and so blocked payment method types:
- PayPal - PayPal restricts Stripe, and so it's standard integration partners from offering its services.
- Stripe Balance - A method between Stripe account owners to transfer and pay for the balance.
- Stripe Terminal - Pin machines offered by Stripe demand a different flow, whereas you can use Hostaway payment links on a tablet for the same result. For this reason, we do not plan to support this in the near future.
- Sofort / Giro Pay - Deprecating and or merging payment methods during 2026.
The above-listed payment methods are subject to changes made by the specific method provider, Stripe, and or Hostaway side, where we strive to keep this updated as much as possible. The availability of payment methods depends on your local Stripe account and your country. Some methods might not show up on your Stripe account due to your Merchant of Record country location, and so are not accepted by the method brand to be used by you.
