Swikly is a safe, third party specialized in the management of online security deposits for tourism and short-term rental players
Connect Swikly with Hostaway
1. First, you need to find your Hostaway ID and API key. You can activate the connection from the 'Marketplace' for the relevant partner to generate your API Key:

- Go to the Hostaway Dashboard.
- Click on 'Marketplace' within the dashboard, then search for the relevant partner and click on the 'Connect/Configure' button available there:
- This will expand the partner box and you can click on 'Connect' again to start generating the Keys:
- Then you can click 'Create' to generate the API Key:
- The new credentials will then be presented on the screen. Please make sure to copy and save the API Key safely as it will be visible only once:
- Go to the Hostaway Dashboard.
2. Log into your Swikly account by navigating to https://app.swikly.com/views/signin.php?lang=en > Click on "Partners" in the top right menu, then on Hostaway > Copy and paste your Account ID and API Key available from the page opened on Hostaway >
- Click on "Confirm". Congratulations! Your accounts are now linked.
3. Now you have to Set up the option in Swikly
Once your Hostaway account is connected to Swikly, you'll need to select your user option from Swikly. Just click on the option of your choice.
Then, enter a default deposit amount, which will only be taken into account if there is no deposit amount entered in Hostaway.
4. Now Prepare your security deposit request
A. Set up your deposit amounts
For each listing, you can add a different deposit amount.
- Go to "listings". > Edit your listing and click on "Price and Fee"> Add your deposit amount in "Refundable Damage deposit fee" > Save

B. Create a "Security Deposit" field to verify that the deposit has been secured
- Go to the "Reservations" tab then "CustomField" > Add a new "CustomField" and name it precisely "Swikly deposit secured" > Choose as "CustomFieldType" the field "TEXTAREA" > Save

C. Create an automatic deposit request email.
Now, setup an automated email to send your damage deposit and/or payment requests based on the channels and listing :
- Go to "Inbox" and click on "Automation" > Create a new message > Name it "Swikly deposit" > Add the messages (Examples were given below) > Seup your event trigger has 10 days before arrival > Select the channel > Click on "Automatically add new listings"if your going add more listings > Click on "Always trigger" to send your message if the reservation is not met your automation restrictions > Click on Save

How do I know if my client has posted a deposit and/or paid for their reservation?
When a deposit is made, we automatically update the "Swikly deposit secured" Custom Field created for this purpose. The CustomField changes to "Yes" when the deposit has been made. You can find this CustomField in "Reservations" by adding it to your columns.
You can also find this tag in the details of the reservation.
The principle is the same for the payment. The "Is Paid" field changes to "Yes" when the payment has been made by your customer
