How to connect to Lynx?

Connect Lynx with Hostaway

Step 1. Add the Hostaway integration and authorize Lynx. This is a one-time process

 


Step 2. Link each Hostaway listing to Lynx property

  1. You need to find your Hostaway ID and API key. You can activate the connection from the 'Marketplace' for the relevant partner to generate your API Key
    • Go to the Hostaway Dashboard
    • Click on Marketplace within the dashboard, then search Lynx and click on Connect/Configure

    • This will expand the partner box and you can click on 'Connect' again to start generating the Keys

    • Then you can click 'Create' to generate the API Key

    • The new credentials will then be presented on the screen. Please make sure to copy and save the API Key safely as it will be visible only once

  2. Navigate to Lynx Portal, access the Integrations page

    1. Click the "Settings" (gear icon) button at the top-left corner of the Lynx portal
    2. Click "Integrations" on the left side of the "Settings" page
    3. Click "Add Integration"



  3. Enter the Required Details

    1. Select "PMS/Booking Site" as the Category

    2. Select "Hostaway" as the Partner

    3. Create a name for the Integration. The Account Name is useful for organizing multiple accounts of the same type

    4. Enter the Account ID for your Hostaway account you saved from Step 1

    5. Enter the API Key for your Hostaway account that you saved from Step 1

    6. Select "Yes" or "No" for the "Should the access code be sent back to the PMS?" field. Note that selecting "No" will prevent Lynx from sending guest codes to Hostaway

    7. Select group assignments for the integration

      • Select the "Shared Across All Groups" option if you only have one Hostaway integration that will be shared by all property groups

      • Select the specific groups that the integration should be used for if you have multiple Hostaway accounts that need to be separated by group

    8. Click "Add" to save and create the integration

Step 3. Authorize the integration

  1. Click to expand the Integration details
  2. Click Authorize
  3. Click Confirm

Step 4. Linking your properties with the Hostaway Dashboard

  1. Link your properties in Lynx with the listings in Hostaway
    1. Go to Properties in Lynx
    2. Edit Property Details
    3. Set your PMS/Booking Site to Hostaway and Integration to Hostaway
    4. You will then see a dropdown of all your properties in Hostaway
    5. Select the property that corresponds with the property/door lock you have set up in Lynx
  2. Once the property/properties are linked, you will see generated access codes inside Hostaway

  3. Lynx automatically generates door lock codes and sends them to the Hostaway Dashboard
  4. The door lock custom field code generated and sent to Hostaway by Lynx is {BXLYNXACCESSCODE}, and this is the field code that users should use when creating an email template

 

Once completed, you have successfully linked your PMS!

Note: Authorizing an integration does not link devices or PMS listings to a specific property

When ready to start syncing reservations link PMS listing to each Lynx Property
