Unlocker is a property and owner management platform that helps Hostaway users organize their listings by owner, keep ownership records accurate, and generate owner statements. By syncing your Hostaway listings into Unlocker and assigning each one to its owner, Unlocker helps ensure every property is tracked consistently with less manual bookkeeping.
Prerequisites
- An active Unlocker account with your enrollment validated
- The Manager or Administrator role in Unlocker
- Access to the Hostaway dashboard with permission to generate an API key
Steps on Hostaway
- Go to Hostaway Dashboard
- Click on Marketplace within the dashboard
- Search for Unlocker and click on the Connect button
- A small box will appear > Click on Create
- The Account ID and the API Key will be presented in a new window
- Copy your Account ID and API Key and keep them somewhere safe — the API Key is shown only once
Steps on Unlocker
- Log in to your Unlocker account and open Settings
- In the sidebar, click Marketplace, then find the Hostaway tile and click Activate integration
- Paste in the Account ID and API Key you copied from Hostaway, then click Activate
- Once connected, the integration status changes to Connected and a first sync starts automatically
- From the Settings tab, turn on Automatic sync to have Unlocker pull new data from Hostaway every 5 minutes, and optionally enable Automatic import for unambiguous items
- Open Import decisions and, for each property pulled from Hostaway, either match it to an existing unit or create a new one, and assign it to the correct Owner or Company — Hostaway does not send owner information, so this step is always manual
- Click Apply decisions to finish importing your properties
You're all done. Your Hostaway listings now appear as properties in Unlocker, linked to their owners, and will keep syncing automatically going forward.
