Learn how to manage message automations in multiple languages and choose the right setup for multilingual guest communication.
Multiple language automation
Hostaway allows sending automation depending on the guest’s language. The guest language is determined by the channel and can be manually added/edited by you.
- The guest language comes automatically from Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo
- For Public API, it can be inserted using the "guestLocale" parameter
- For Expedia, Booking Engine, WordPress plugin, and other channels, the language field is empty and you can edit the reservation to fill it in yourself
- If you don't want to automatically use the language information received from channels, then you can turn it off in settings > Integrations
How to use multi-language automation?
Go to Inbox > Automation > Create a new one or edit. Between the message and event trigger, you will find the Languages dropdown
- Each language includes a set of subject and body fields. Dynamic fields can be used
- All reservations can be edited to insert/change the language
Additional notes
- There is no limit to how many languages can be added per automation
- When changing the language in a reservation, all scheduled messages for that reservation are automatically changed to that language
- If the automation doesn't have the guest language, we will send the primary one - We advise having the default message in English
