What is a Cross-Listing?
- Cross-listing allows setting a relationship between several listings: one parent and one or more children (a one-level relationship).
- When a child listing gets a reservation, it will block the parent but not other child listings
- When a parent gets a reservation, it will block all child listings

How Cancellation and Availability work for Cross-Listings?
- Standalone Listing: If a booking on a standalone listing is cancelled, the previously blocked dates/days should be automatically released and made available for new bookings
- Cross-Listed Parent Listing: If a booking on a cross-listed parent listing is cancelled, both the parent listing's availability and the associated child listings' availability should be automatically released. Ideally, the parent listing's release triggers the release of its child listings.
- Cross-Listed Child Listing: If a booking on a cross-listed child listing is cancelled, the child listing's availability should be automatically released.
How to set up cross-listings?
Where to find the cross-listings feature?
- Go to Channel Manager
- At the end of the listing line, click on the "..."
- Click on the Link child listings
What are the restrictions of cross-listings?
- Duplicate listings are not allowed
- A parent listing cannot be a child to another listing
- A child listing can only have one parent and cannot be a parent itself
- It is not possible to manually block a child and not the parent. Same, it is not possible to manually block a parent and not the child listings
- A listing in a cross-listing situation cannot be deleted. You will have to unlink first
- Hostaway listing iCal links should not be used or linked to other listings in the same account by an iCal
- Dates that are blocked before the cross-listing will propagate to the other listings once the cross-listing setup is made (unblock any unneeded blocked dates before the cross-listing setup is done)
Cross-Listing Blocking Behavior: Propagation Logic and Unlink/Relink Exception
If the parent listing is blocked (either due to an existing reservation or a manual action, or any other reason) before setting up cross-listing, it will correctly block all child listings after the setup
-
There is one exception where a blocked parent does not block the child listings after cross-listing setup:
The listing was originally a child listing in a cross-listing setup
It was then unlinked and later re-linked as a parent listing
If the blocking reason came from the previous cross-listing configuration, then blocking the parent will not propagate to child listings
Select the child listings
- Some may appear with a lock, meaning that their selection is not possible. This may be because those are already in a parent-child relationship or because it's the parent itself
- Once you click on "Confirmed Selection," the relationship will be established in the Channel Manager
- If you use the Booking Window, it is important that this setting is the same for all listings (parent/children).
How does it look in the calendar?
- In the multi and monthly calendar, you can see the relationship and the affected days
- Reservations will show in dark green
- The light green symbolized blocked days due to cross-listings.
How to unlink a cross-listing?
To unlink a listing, you will need to go to:
- Go to Channel Manager
- At the end of the listing line, click on the "..."
- Click on Unlink from the parent
Note that unlinking listings will keep the dates blocked.
