You must be an account admin for both Operto and Hostaway in order to complete the following process
Importing properties into Operto:
- Login to your Operto account
- Click here to navigate to the integrations page
- Locate ‘Hostway’ and click ‘Connect’. This will open up a new popup window
- From a new browser tab, login to your Hostaway account
- Locate ‘settings’ on the left-hand sidebar
- Locate ‘Hostway’ API on the top right of the navigation pane
- Click ‘Generate API secret key’ - Please securely store your API key on your end. If the key is lost, it cannot be recovered and you will have to generate a new key that will need to be updated in Operto.
- Copy the ‘Account ID’
- Moving back to your Operto dashboard, paste the copied ID into ‘Account ID’
- Move back to the Hostaway dashboard and copy the ‘API Key’
- Paste this into ‘API key’ in Operto dashboard
- Once both the ‘Account ID’ and ‘API Key’ are copied from the Hostaway dashboard and into the Operto dashboard, click ‘Connect’
- Hit the refresh button on your web browser and then you will see that the status will change to ‘Connected’
- Navigate to the ‘Units’ tab on the left-hand sidebar of your Operto dashboard
- Click on ‘unactivated’, tab. You will see a list of all your imported properties
Customizing guest messages to include access codes:
In order for your guests to automatically receive their access codes, you will need to configure your message settings in your Hostaway dashboard
- From your Hostaway account, click on the ‘message’ icon on the left hand side bar
- Click on ‘Automations’ on the top right of the navigation pane
- In the body of the custom ‘Message’ field, you will need to include both standard fields from the drop-down menu: {{door_code}} and 1{{door_code}}. These are your check-in and check-out codes respectively.
- You'll also want to ensure you have two messages scheduled to be sent out to the guest:
- The first one will be 1 hour after the reservation has been made with the 'always trigger' box checked
- The second one will be 3 hours before departure time with the always trigger box checked
- Example:
- Introduce {{door_code}} for your check in instructions and 1{{door_code}} for check out.
