How to create a Hostaway Direct Reservation?
Direct Reservations are reservations that you create directly in Hostaway. Please take a look at this quick video on how to create a Hostaway direct reservation.
Create a Hostaway direct reservation from "Calendar"
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard > Calendar > Monthly View
- Select the dates you would like for the reservation
- Fill in all the necessary information
- Save
Create a Hostaway direct reservation from "Reservations"
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard > Reservations
- Click on Add+ in the top right corner
- Add your guest details and click on "Save"
- You can add payment information > Scroll down to "Payment" or, once saved, send the Guest Portal to the guest so they can add a credit card
- Save
Add additional fees to a Hostaway Direct Reservation
To add any additional fees to an existing Hostaway Direct Reservation you should follow the next steps:
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard > Listing > Edit > Price & Fees
- Scroll down until you find Custom Fees > + Add Upsell
- Go to the Reservation > Edit > Extra Fees > Select the fee
- Save
The Extra Fees drop-down in the reservation is based on the Custom Fees setup as an Upsell on your listing, so it would not contain any other type of extra fee:
The only way to add other extra fees that are not part of the listing configuration is by doing so from the Financial Fields section once the reservation is created:
Notes
- Direct bookings block the calendar preventing others from booking that day on all of your channels
- When creating a manual direct reservation the listing minimum stay can be overridden
- When creating a manual direct reservation you will be able to create a reservation on top of an existing one which could result in an overbooking
- When creating a manual direct reservation the system will automatically add the financial details applicable, you can manually change these if needed, however, this manual update will prevent the system from making any automatic changes to the financial fields
- For example, if the base rate is manually set when the reservation is created the system will no longer update it automatically if the arrival or departure dates were to change
- If the direct reservation is for a family member staying over or an owner, you can use the Owner Stay reservation status
