This guide explains how property managers can use payment links in Hostaway's Guest Portal. Payment links allow guests to securely pay for their reservations using Stripe.
Payment Link Page
The payment link page is hosted by Hostaway and integrated into the Guest Portal. It uses Stripe’s payment element to securely process credit card payments.
Charge Statuses
Payment links are available for Due and Failed Payments.
How to Copy a Payment Link
You can copy the payment link from 4 places:
- Reservation details > Overview > Payment timeline
- Reservation details > Payment > Payment timeline
- Reservation details > Payment > Charges table
- Guest payments > Charges > Charges table
Steps to Copy a Payment Link:
- Click on the additional options button for the relevant charge
- Click "Copy payment link"
- The link is copied to your clipboard
- A confirmation alert appears
You can paste the link anywhere, such as in messages or emails.
How Guests Can Access a Payment Link
Guests can access the payment link through the Guest Portal.
Steps for Guests to Open a Payment Link:
- In the Guest Portal, under "Invoices & Receipts", a "Pay now" button is shown next to a Failed or Due payment
- Click "Pay now"
- The payment link opens in a new tab
By default:
The "Pay now" button is enabled for Failed payments
The "Pay now" button is disabled for Due payments
Managing Payment Link Visibility in the Guest Portal
Property managers can control whether guests can access payment links via the Guest Portal for Due and Failed charges.
Steps to Adjust Visibility Settings
When adding a new listing or editing an existing listing, you can configure whether the payment link should be accessible in the Guest Portal.
