Introduction
To protect your account and your guests' data, every Hostaway login has two steps: your password and a 6-digit verification code. Even if someone knows your password, they cannot get into your account without access to your email or phone.
How the login works
- Go to dashboard.hostaway.com/login, enter your email, and click Continue.
- Enter your password.
- If your profile has a phone number and text message codes are on, choose where you want to receive the code: Email or Text message. If not, the code goes straight to your email.
- Type the 6-digit code into the login page.
The email has the subject "Two factor authentication code". Before you type the code, check that the website address is dashboard.hostaway.com. Hostaway will never ask you for this code by phone, chat or email.
Good to know about the code
- The code is valid for 15 minutes.
- It goes only to the option you chose. If you chose Email, nothing is sent to your phone.
- Resend code sends a new code to the same place. To receive it on the other option, start the login again and choose it.
- If you started the login with an older verification email that has a "Yes, this was me" button, click the button in the same browser and on the same device where you started the login.
Mobile app login
The app opens a secure browser screen where you enter your email and password. Then choose where to receive the code, if asked, and type the 6-digit code in the app. Only type the code in the Hostaway app or on dashboard.hostaway.com. If you see an "Invalid captcha" error, update the Hostaway app to version 1.34.10 or later and log in again.
Manage your login settings
Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then Login and security. There you can:
- Change your password.
- See the email address that always receives your codes.
- Turn text message codes on or off.
The text message option needs a mobile phone number on your profile. To add or change it, click your profile picture, then Edit profile, update your phone number, and click Save. Each user on your account manages their own phone number.
Guidelines to create a strong password
- Make it long, ideally 12 characters or more, and mix uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (for example ! @ # $ %).
- Avoid personal information such as your name or date of birth.
- Do not reuse a password from another platform.
- A password manager can create and store strong passwords for you.
Common errors
"The provided credentials are invalid"
Your email or password is incorrect. Click Forgot password on the login page to create a new password.
Too many attempts
After several failed attempts, the login is blocked for about one hour. Wait and try again, or reset your password with Forgot password.
You did not receive the code
- Check the option you chose, Email or Text message.
- Check your Spam or Junk folder for an email from noreply@hostaway.com.
- Click Resend code.
- If you chose Text message, make sure the number on your profile is a mobile number.
