What Are Hard-Closed Rooms?
You may encounter "hard-closed" rooms when your rooms show as unavailable ("Closed") on Booking.com, despite being open in Hostaway. This might indicate that the rooms are hard-closed at the room level on Booking.com, preventing bookings.
How to Identify the Issue
Verify your room status by checking your Booking.com Extranet under Rates & Availability > Calendar. If rooms appear closed here but open in Hostaway, you're experiencing a hard-closed room issue.
Resolution Process
Step 1: Disconnect from Your Connectivity Provider
- Navigate to Account > Connectivity Provider in your Booking.com Extranet
- Disconnect from your current provider (such as Hostaway)
Note: This temporary disconnection is necessary to make manual changes
Step 2: Reopen the Hard-Closed Rooms
- Select Open/Close Rooms from the Rates & Availability dropdown menu
- Carefully select the correct date range you need to reopen. We strongly recommend that you make all dates and room types available to close rooms on Hostaway later if needed.
- Apply the changes
Step 3: Verify the Changes
- Return to Rates & Availability > Calendar
- Confirm that the previously closed dates now show as "Bookable."
Step 4: Reconnect Your Channel Manager
- Go back to Account > Connectivity Provider
- Reconnect to your channel manager (e.g., Hostaway)
- This will reestablish the automated connection

- Dates appear available in your channel manager, but are closed on Booking.com
