Getting started
What is AI CoHost?
AI CoHost is a chat assistant built into your Hostaway dashboard. Instead of clicking through reports, you ask — "What was my revenue last month?", "Who's checking in this weekend?" "Which listing has the best reviews?" — and AI CoHost answers in seconds using your real account data.
AI CoHost uses AI, so responses may be incomplete or inaccurate. Double-check important information.
How do I open it?
Click the AI CoHost button in the top bar of your dashboard. It opens as a panel on the right side of the screen — you can keep working while it's open, or expand it for a bigger view. It's available on every page, and on mobile soon.
How do I ask a good question?
Just ask naturally — don't worry about perfect grammar or the odd typo. If something isn't clear, AI CoHost will ask you to clarify. A few tips:
You can start with something specific or wider. Ask "Show me Airbnb revenue for last month," or "Show my revenue in 2026"
You can follow up with "now include all channels" — AI CoHost remembers the conversation.

When should I start a new conversation?
When you switch to a new topic, start a fresh conversation. The longer a chat gets, the more AI CoHost has to think through, so a clean thread keeps answers fast and focused. Just tap the new conversation button.
Can I use voice instead of typing?
Yes. Tap the microphone icon, speak your question, and AI CoHost transcribes it. You can edit the text before sending, or send it as is with one click of the send icon.
What AI CoHost can do
What can I ask about?
Reservations & bookings — upcoming check-ins, booking volumes, channels (Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, direct), guest lookups, repeat guests, lead times.
Performance & occupancy — occupancy rate, ADR, revenue per night, booking gaps, trends over time, listing-vs-listing comparisons, and rankings.
Financials — revenue, payouts, fees, taxes, discounts, commissions, broken down by property, channel, or date range.
Reviews & ratings — average scores, category breakdowns (cleanliness, communication, location…), trends, and common complaint or praise themes.
Listing details — addresses, amenities, check-in times, WiFi, capacity.
Calendar & availability — what's open or blocked across a date range, per-day pricing, and minimum stays.
Guest messaging — unread counts, special requests, what's awaiting a reply, and the sentiment of recent conversations.

Can it handle complex questions?
Yes — don't be afraid to stretch it. AI CoHost can combine data from different areas, analyze it, spot trends, and summarize. Try the bigger questions, not just simple lookups.
Can I see how it worked out a number?
Yes. Just ask "how did you work that out?" and AI CoHost will explain the figures and the formula it used.
Why doesn't a number match what I see elsewhere in Hostaway?
It's usually down to filters. The date range, listings, or channels AI CoHost used may differ from what you've selected on the dashboard. AI CoHost shows the filters behind each answer — and you can change them in a follow-up, e.g., "use check-in dates instead" or "only Airbnb."
Can it show charts?
Yes. AI CoHost returns charts (bar, line, pie) and tables right in the chat. You can switch chart views, expand to full screen, and copy or download the underlying data as a spreadsheet. If a chart doesn't appear automatically, just ask — e.g., "show it on a chart."
Does it work in my language?
Yes. Ask in English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and more — AI CoHost answers in the same language you use.
What AI CoHost can't do (yet)
Can it change things in my account?
Not directly — AI CoHost is read-only, so it can't book, cancel, edit reservations, change prices, or update listings itself, and it reads your inbox but doesn't reply for you. It can, though, help you write: ask it to draft a guest reply, or suggest a new listing title or description, then copy, tweak, and paste it wherever you need. There's more coming in this area — stay tuned.
Can it help me set things up or change settings?
For "how do I…" questions — changing your cancellation policy, turning on instant booking, connecting a channel, archiving a listing — AI CoHost will point you to Hostaway Support, who can walk you through it. AI CoHost focuses on answering questions about your business data, not configuring the platform.
What's the difference between AI CoHost and the Fin AI assistant?
AI CoHost answers questions about your business data. The Fin AI assistant handles how-to, setup, billing, and support questions about using Hostaway. If you ask AI CoHost something that's really a support question, it hands you over to Fin AI automatically.
Can it export a PDF or a full report?
Not yet. You can copy or download any table AI CoHost shows you as a spreadsheet, but full PDF/report exports aren't available.
Can it see everything in my account?
Not every area just yet. AI CoHost can read your reservations, listings, financials, reviews, calendar, and guest messages, and we're continuously extending what it can access. It only ever sees data from your own account. It also isn't aware of anything kept outside Hostaway — WhatsApp chats, spreadsheets, external pricing or ops tools, or costs you haven't entered. If you want it to factor something like that in, just paste the details into your question, and AI CoHost will work with them alongside your Hostaway data.
Privacy & memory
Does AI CoHost remember our conversation?
Yes — within a single conversation, it remembers what you've already asked, so follow-ups work naturally. Your past conversations are saved too: open the history to revisit or continue any earlier chat. Your conversations are yours alone — only you can see your own chat history.
What happens if I close the window?
Nothing is lost. Your conversation is saved automatically — reopen AI CoHost and pick up where you left off.
Who in my team can use AI CoHost?
By default, the account owner and admin users. You can give other users access in the dashboard under Settings → Users → Access permissions → "AI CoHost with full financial access." As that permission explains, it lets the user access the AI CoHost chat assistant and gives them all financial data on the listings they can already see.
Is my data private?
Yes. AI CoHost only accesses data belonging to your own account, and your data stays within Hostaway.
Troubleshooting
A response stopped or failed — what do I do?
Retry — or reword the question, add a bit of clarification, or narrow your query by date, listing, or listing tag, and ask again.
How do I give feedback or report an issue?
Use the thumbs-up/thumbs-down on any response — a thumbs-down lets you tell us what went wrong, and it's the fastest way to help us improve AI CoHost. To report a bug or get account, billing, or setup help, open a ticket with the Fin AI assistant. You can also just ask AI CoHost, and it'll hand you over.
