If you need to stop accepting bookings on Booking.com — whether temporarily or permanently — all changes must be made directly in the Booking.com Extranet. Hostaway does not currently support closing or deleting Booking.com listings from within the Channel Manager.
Option 1: Temporarily Pause (Close) a Listing
Use this option if you want to stop accepting new bookings for a period of time but plan to reopen the property later.
- Log in to the Booking.com Extranet at extranet.booking.com.
- Select the property you want to pause.
- Go to Property > Availability.
- Block all future dates on the calendar to prevent new bookings from being accepted
- Alternatively, navigate to Property > Property Status and set the property to Closed / Not Bookable if that option is available for your property type
Important: Blocking availability in the Booking.com Extranet will override what Hostaway sends. Do not close dates in Hostaway only — Booking.com may still show the property as available unless the Extranet is updated directly.
Option 2: Permanently Remove a Listing from Booking.com
To permanently remove your property from Booking.com:
- Contact Booking.com partner support directly through the Extranet to request the deactivation of a property
- Once Booking.com confirms the property is closed on their end, unmap it in Hostaway: go to Channel Manager > Channels > Booking.com > Configure and remove the property mapping.
- Check that no active reservations exist before requesting removal — Booking.com will not deactivate a property with pending or upcoming confirmed bookings.
Option 3: Unmap a Listing in Hostaway Without Closing It on Booking.com
If you want to disconnect a listing from Hostaway but keep it active on Booking.com independently:
- Go to Channel Manager > Channels > Booking.com > Configure in Hostaway.
- Find the listing and select the option to unmap or disconnect it.
- After unmapping, Hostaway will stop syncing rates and availability to Booking.com for that listing. You will need to manage rates and availability directly in the Booking.com Extranet going forward.
Note: Unmapping in Hostaway does not close or deactivate the listing on Booking.com. The property will remain visible and bookable on Booking.com unless you close it in the Extranet separately.
Listing Automatically Restores After Deletion Attempt
If you have tried to remove a listing and it keeps reappearing, this is typically caused by one of the following:
- An active sync from Hostaway is recreating the listing — unmap it in Hostaway first before requesting removal on Booking.com.
- Booking.com requires a direct request through partner support to fully deactivate a property. Self-service deletion is not available for all account types.
- A pending or active reservation is preventing deactivation.
