Inbox WhatsApp: Sign Up for WhatsApp Business

Learn how to complete the WhatsApp Business sign-up flow in Hostaway and what information is required during setup.

 

Before you begin: choose how to connect

When you connect WhatsApp to Hostaway, you can either connect an existing WhatsApp Business number or add a new phone number. The option you choose determines what you need to do before you start — see step 4 below.

How to set up

  1. Go to Integrations:
    Visit the Hostaway integrations page and click Connect WhatsApp.

  2. Connect to Facebook:
    Log in with the Facebook account that owns (or will own) your Meta business portfolio and WhatsApp Business account for your property management business.

  3. Select or Create a Meta Business Portfolio:

    • Choose your existing Meta business portfolio, or create a new one if needed.

    • Note: If Meta requires verification, you may need to verify your business on their website.

  4. Choose how you want to onboard. You can either connect an existing WhatsApp Business number or add a new one:

    1. Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App: Share your WhatsApp Business account with Hostaway. You'll still have full access to your WhatsApp Business app and can continue using it.
    2. Start with a new WhatsApp phone number: Add a new phone number. You'll need to verify your new number to continue.

    Important. Which option applies to you:

    1. Existing WhatsApp Business number (WhatsApp Business App): you can connect it to Hostaway directly. You do not need to delete your WhatsApp Business account first.
    2. Plain/personal WhatsApp number (regular WhatsApp, not WhatsApp Business): this number must not be currently connected to any WhatsApp account. If you want to use it, you must first:
      • Disconnect it from your existing WhatsApp account.
      • Wait 10 minutes.
      • Restart the setup process.

  5. Select or Add a WhatsApp Business Account:
    Choose an existing account or add a new one.

  6. Create or Select a WhatsApp Business Profile:

    • Set your display name and industry.

    • Tip: This information will be visible to your guests.

  7. Add Your Phone Number:
    Click Add a new number and enter the phone number you want to use for WhatsApp.

  8. Verify Your Number:
    Complete the verification process.
    You’re all set!
