Using ChatGPT in Hostaway Inbox
ChatGPT suggests replies in the Inbox, based on conversation, reservation, and listing data. Replies are not sent automatically but need human approval as they may be inaccurate or misleading.
Where to find ChatGPT in the Hostaway Dashboard?
In the Inbox text box, right next to the attachment button.
Additionally, you can set the tone of AI replies from Settings > Integrations. You can choose from the following tones: Assertive, Concise, Empathetic, Enthusiastic, Formal, Friendly, Informal, and Inviting.
Limitations & Recommendations

ChatGPT can only suggest replies for guests who have sent at least one message in the conversation

There is a length limitation that is affected by the length of the messages in the conversation

What information do you send to ChatGPT?
We send the following instructions:
- You are a property manager of a short-term rental business
- Do not sign with your name
- Reply to the guest using the information provided
- Do not use information that does not appear in this conversation
We also send the following data:
- Guest name
- Number of guests
- Guest stay dates
- Standard check-in time
- Standard check-out time
- Property name
- Total price
Does Hostaway share private information with ChatGPT?
Yes, the Guest's name. We do not share addresses or any other listing/personal information.
Can ChatGPT automatically reply to my guests? I do not want to approve every message
Our goal is to get there, but ChatGPT is not ready yet. Since the risk of providing wrong information to guests is still too high, we require human approval of these messages for the time being.
