Reservation Extensions
AnsweredWe would love to offer extensions to our current guests at a discount and of course want to book them directly to save on travel site fees (guest and us) however, the only way to do so is to create a new reservation which prompts the same automated messages that are not applicable. We have to manually remove messages from the existing reservation, as well as the new one so it makes sense to the traveler and so they don't receive duplicate messages. Also, the calendar makes it look like it is a flip so the cleaners are confused. On top of that, a new door code is generated even if we fill that field in when making the new reservation. Please offer "Extension" as a reservation type so we can seamlessly add days to an existing reservation! Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. This is quite a complicated request from a technical perspective, but we'll see if it's something that we can tackle in the future.

Yes, this is extremely important! Not only stay extensions but we have other upsells there is no way to properly charge without creating a new reservation which creates all of the same problems mentioned above.

I can't honestly believe that you can't even extend an existing booking?! Am I missing something? Ive searched the Help Guide and can't find anything on extension? This is such a basic feature that should be a standard set of basic features available! It should be as easy as right click > extend > select date of extension ? The system then autosends email for extra charge or auto charges guests with existing card. Job Done! This is how Im used to having used more than 15 pms!
Please include this very basic and needed feature asap!

Thought I would search on this rather than create a new request. I too need an easier way to offer an extended stay at a discount. Especially to fill up single nights. Software should be able to easily see a vacant night after the stay (or before) and we should be able to set a number of days prior to offer a discount of any single night and have it be listed as an upsell option on the guest book for them to accept and pay for. No need for new booking or auto emails being generated, just a modified booking notification and email. All done easy peasy.
Hostaway software should be able to have section to set auto offer (no of days prior, discount % or $) also have a manual way to just do it via their reservation if they want to extend when there is plenty of days available behind or ahead of their current reservation.

Same here. Wouldn't expect this feature not be implemented yet. What the developer needs to do is just to add a function called "Duplicate" which copies over existing booking details, create it as a new booking with new charges and with link to the previous booking (for information continuation sake).
