Message Automtions - Make It Obvious When There Are Language Templates
On the Automations page, the “Languages” section is collapsed by default and if there ARE overrides it would be nice to have a visual indication that there is potentially relevant information hiding behind that dropdown. Perhaps something like "Languages (2)" to indicate there are 2 language overrides, or "Languages (Spanish, French)" with the actual languages indicated.
We had a scenario on our account where an “English” template was unnecessarily created (that duplicated what was in the base template), but the "English" template was totally hidden from view. We changed the base template but then when we looked at messages that were being sent to guests they were the "old version". After several frustrating calls with support and getting nowhere, we finally got through to someone who understood what was going. As soon as we realized there was an override hidden behind the "Languages" dropdown and deleted it, our guests started receiving the base template which was correct.
In addition to making this more obvious on the actual automations configuration page, it would also be brilliant to indicate in the inbox on the automated messages which language template was used. Currently at the top of an automation that was sent to a guest it has "Automation ID #### - Automation Name", if this more clearly indicated that it was sending the a language template instead of the base template I think we would have discovered the issue much quicker.
Also under "Manage Messages" where you can search for upcoming scheduled messages it really should indicate there if the base template or a language override is being used. That was another place we kept looking and we could see that our "pre arrival" automation was scheduled, and when we clicked into it we saw the correct message, but then when it got sent to the guest it was wrong, because there was no indication anywhere that it was using a language override.
Our team knows to look out for this now, but someone else is going to run into this in the future and it would save them a ton of grief if it was more obvious what was going on.
