Pricing option that calculates fees based on the average nightly rate rather than the total base rate
Could you please add a pricing option that calculates fees based on the average nightly rate rather than the total base rate?
The formula would be:
Calculate average nightly rate: Total base rate ÷ Number of nights
I want to apply the percentage (in my case 4%) to this average nightly rate, so my guest can pay per hour earlier check in.
Multiply by number of hours booked.
For example:
7-night stay at 7000 NOK total = 1000 NOK per night
4% per hour would be 40 NOK per hour
3-hour early check-in would cost 120 NOK
This would create a more equitable pricing structure that:
Scales appropriately with length of stay.
Works fairly with dynamic pricing.
Maintains consistency across bookings of different durations.
Better reflects the true value of the service.
Could you please let me know if this enhancement is possible and what timeline we might expect for implementation? This would help me a lot making fair prices for my guest. This would be great because my nightly rates fluctates from 300-1300 usd per night in peak season.

Agreed! We currently need to calculate all of this manually for each early check-in request. The problem with this is that it creates a lot of work for us. We have early check-in as an upsell on the portal, but set the price at $0 and include in the description for them to reach out for actual pricing. At that point, we manually calculate the price and give it to them. This creates more manual work for us and many of those guests end up not wanting the upsell once they discover the price. If the guests could see the actual price ahead of time on their own, it would be a much friendlier guest experience and would also remove work off of our plate.
Specifically, the calculation we do is that we calculate the price the guest paid per hour (including all taxes and fees), and then round up to the nearest $5. That's the fee we charge for each hour of early check-in or late check-out. Hopefully a formula would allow for that.
Sou (OP): The way Hostaway uses these feature requests is that they consider implementing the ones that have the highest number of up-votes. I just upvoted it. You can also up-vote it yourself. The way to do this is by clicking the tiny up arrow UNDER the "Follow" button. This is how you both up- and down-vote.
