Requesting same day booking requests instead of booking cutoffs or lead times.

I couldn't agree more! We used to have it set up on Airbnb (through Guesty) to where guests could instant-book only if more than 24 hours in advance. For last-minute with less than 24 hours in advance, guests could request-to-book. Airbnb has that option and Guesty has it enabled on their end.

We have the same use case as Tony. A listing could be dirty, and cleaners might be able to clean and have it ready last minute for a same-day booking, but they also might not be able to make it work. In those cases, with a request, we can touch base with the cleaners before accepting the request. This bit us in the as* this week as guests instant-booked a reservation at a dirty listing 2 hours before check-in time and the cleaners couldn't get to it. We assumed that this setting on our Airbnb listings would be preserved in the transition to Hostfully, so we didn't think to check it. Apparently that wasn't the case and we had to suffer the consequences of that. We never would have thought that support for something this crucial wouldn't be built in to Hostaway, and even less, that the setting would be automatically changed on our listings without notice.

Tony: The way that Hostaway uses these feature requests is that they sort based on the number of "upvotes" to evaluate whether to build the requested functionality. They only evaluate the ones with a decent amount of upvotes. I just upvoted the request, you can also upvote it yourself. The way to do so is by clicking the tiny up arrow above the number of votes. It's under the "follow" button. Note that following and upvoting are two different things.

on Guesty you could block the day a guest was checking out - that is a hard block, but the above scenario, to make same day bookings possible if a request is granted - makes totally sense!
