Increase SMS character limit (from 140 to 306 or more)

Twilio allows for "concatenated" SMS messages of up to 1600 characters. On the technical front, it is feasible to increase the character limit from the current limit on Hostaway of 140 characters. Yes, this would increase Hostaway's Twilio spend because each message segment is billed as a separate message. If that is the limiting factor, you can consider limiting it at 306 characters so that it's 2 segments maximum. This is what Guesty does and it's also Twilio's recommendation.

We really need more text characters available to us. I have to send multiple text messages that should be one. Many other platforms have at least 300 characters. Please add this as a priority fix.

@amy will you please up-vote the request? The way Hostaway uses these feature requests is that they consider implementing the ones that receive the most up-votes. If it doesn't have enough up-votes, they may not even see it. They wouldn't look in to each request individually and look at the comments to determine whether to implement. The way to upvote it is by clicking the tiny up arrow under the "Follow" button (not necessarily clicking the Follow button). That should increment the number.

Not everybody that has commented here saying that they want this has upvoted. If you haven't upvoted, please do so! That is the only thing that increases the likelihood that Hostaway actually implements this.

One thing to point out is that even though Guesty does a 306 character limit, and that would be a HUGE improvement over Hostaway's current 140-char limit, I think Hostaway should really set itself a much higher bar that just matching Guesty's terrible product. I think it would be great if you set the limit at the technical limit of 1600 characters. If Twilio messaging spend budget is a major limiting factor, then maybe consider making the limit the same 306 characters for users using Hostaway's number, but develop the feature for us to be able to bring our own Twilio account/number so that we pay for the messaging use ourselves and increasing the limit to the full 1600 characters for users who do that.
