Multiple language automation
For certain situations, you might need to be able to send automated messages in different languages, according to the guest’s language.
Hostaway added this feature to allow to send different message automation depending on the guest’s language. Languages are added when creating/editing the automation, and a different message can be set per language. The guest language is determined by the channel and can be manually added/edited by you. Adding or changing a language after the reservation was created, will also change the scheduled messages according to the newly set guest language.
This makes managing a multi-lingual rental business very easy and intuitive, and doesn’t require you to lose any of the setups you already have in Hostaway - just add languages to the existing automation and the rest will be done automatically.
How to use it
-
To add languages to an automation, you'll need to go to the automation and edit it. When you enter the automation you'll see a "Languages" tab that you need to expand and as soon as you do that you'll have a button saying "Add language template":
-
Each language includes a set of subject and body fields. Dynamic fields can be used.
- The guest language comes automatically filled for reservations received from Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO.
For the Public API it can be inserted using guestLocale parameter.
For Expedia, Booking Engine and WordPress plugin the language field is empty and you can edit the reservation to fill it in yourself.
All reservations can be edited to insert/change the language. When changing the language, all scheduled messages for that reservation are automatically changed to that language. - Each automation has a default subject and message - the ones that appear at the top, outside the languages section. If a reservation has a guest language that is not supported in the automation, or if the language field is empty, the default message is sent.
- If you don't want to automatically use the language information received from channels, then you can turn it off in settings → integrations
Additional notes:
There is no limit to how many languages can be added per automation.
