How to create an inquiry in Hostaway?
In Hostaway, you can create inquiries for customers who are not sure about the check-in/check-out dates, number of guests, or any additional information yet. In this way, the availability will not be closed on the other channels, and you can send an inquiry to your future guests with all the information.
To create an Inquiry please follow the next steps:
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard > Calendar
- Select Monthly view > On the top right hand click on Direct Booking
- Select the dates you would like to create this inquiry for
- In the Channel dropdown select Hostaway Direct
- Complete all mandatory fields and select the status Inquiry
- Save
Once the guest confirms that would like to continue and book your property, update the status to "New" and this reservation will block your calendar and the availability will be synced with all channels.
Please note that inquiries do not have a credit card associated, so you should send the Guest Portal to the guest to collect the credit card.

Viewing Inquiries on the Hostaway Dashboard
To view inquiries on your Hostaway dashboard, go to the 'Reservations' section and click on the 'More Filters' option. Then, select 'Inquiry' from the 'Status' dropdown menu. This will allow you to see all the inquiries you have received, separate from the messages with confirmed guests.
