You have several options to charge your guest:
- You can create a single charge on Hostaway for one particular reservation. First, you will need to create an invoice (Guest Invoicing: How to create an invoice). Then, you can charge this invoice (Invoicing: How to take payment)
This is used for the current reservations you want to charge, or for unique reservations.
- You can create an auto charge for all your reservations. Please keep in mind that this will apply to all new reservations and not existing ones. How to set up an auto invoice with an auto charge?
This is used for any new reservations.
- You can charge your guest directly on Stripe. Please find more information on How to create an invoice with Stripe and then on How to charge a guest in Stripe .
This is used if you want to charge from Stripe directly.
How can I take a security deposit?
You can charge your guest creating a single charge on Hostaway or directly on Stripe. Please keep in mind that you will have to refund the security deposit via Stripe.
How can I collect my guest´s credit card information?
You can send a Guest Portal link asking to introduce the credit card information. If you are not familiar with a Guest Portal link, please find more information here.
Please be aware, if there is already one credit card introduced by the guest at the moment of reservation, this information will be overwritten. The newly added credit card will be updated on Stripe, but only for direct, Booking Engine or Wordpress site reservations. For other channels´reservations, a credit card cannot be updated. If needed, you can create an invoice on Stripe and send it to your guest.
