How do I connect to TripAdvisor/Flipkey?
You can connect to TripAdvisor/Flipkey by either of the following:
If you have less than 25 listings available, you can connect your TripAdvisor/Flipkeyaccount via iCal to the dashboard.
If you have more than 25 listings available, you can connect your TripAdvisor/Flipkey account via a One-way Content XML connection, but you'll need to have a signed content XML contract with TripAdvisor/Flipkey and be in touch with a TripAdvisor/Flipkey pre-implementation specialist.
You can read on further information here: Connect FlipKey (Tripadvisor)
What happens if I already have my listings in TripAdvisor/Flipkey and I want to connect via API?
Unfortunately, we don't have an API connection yet with TripAdvisor/Flipkey but we can connect your existing listings via an iCal connection that will sync the reservations and availability but will not push rates nor LOS.
Why would I want an XML/API connection?
You can export new listings from the Hostaway dashboard and more features are listed here: Flipkey (TripAdvisor) Content API.
Can I have the 1-Way API connection if I have multiple accounts?
No, 1-Way API Connection will only support 1 TripAdvisor account connected to your Hostaway dashboard. For multiple accounts, you may use manual iCals to manage calendar availability.
Do I need to add an iCal after my XML connection has been created?
Yes. You can only export listing, rate and availability data by XML and you'll need to import reservations by iCal to Hostaway after TripAdvisor/Flipkey listings are created.
If I update my rates on Hostaway, will these get updated on Tripadvisor if I have the XML API connection?
Please note that the connection DO NOT allow updating the seasonal rate. We can only push the base rate that you can edit in Listing > Edit. When editing, we will push this information to all dates in Tripadvisor. (This means that the rates under Calendar will not be pushed).
If I update my LOS on Hostaway, will these get pushed to TripAdvisor/Flipkey?
No, LOS will not be pushed to TripAdvisor and to push the inventory, you have to set up the iCal once the listing has been created.
