Expedia Guest Messaging
Expedia does not offer an API message sync at the moment, so the main communication method is email, because of this, they send a proxy email by default with the domain "m.expediapartnercentral.com" which masks the guest's real email, messages sent to this email address from Hostaway will show on Expedia as a notification:
When the reservation comes from a third party like Hotels.com instead of directly through Expedia, then the real email will be received since the third party does not have a messaging system, you will be notified of this on Expedia:
If the guest replies through Expedia the message will not reach Hostaway because of the API limitation with Expedia, the guest must reply to the email sent from Hostaway.
Expedia no longer supports the guest email forwarding option for your channel management connection, but the guest should still receive an email through the proxy email provided by Expedia.
Note: Emails and messages sent by guests at the time of booking, which are not replies to an email sent by you within the Hostaway software, cannot be received.
